I wanted to strangle him for most of the book, and in the end I wanted him to see a slow and painful end!! The writing style was awful and ambiguous, I had to re-read some stuff just to understand what Aleo wanted to say with that. This chick is so fucking frustrating! This was another excellent instalment to the series. That is, until she meets Tate. Are your cheeks feeling a little pink yet? Like I said, I just wanted to knock some sense into her. Tate's parents and sister were killed in a car accident and he's never truly recovered from that, feeling very alone now because they were the only family he had. She herself was in love with an ass-hat and lusting over a child.
Audrey's about to hit rock bottom. Privacy Your privacy is very important to us. Yes, he was a dick most of the time but he had a hard upbringing. Audrey Parker is trying to do just that. I love Taking Shots and Trying to Score, but I'd have to say this is definitely my favorite of the series so far!!! She gives you the ability to experience the journey of her characters right along with them.
She has too much of a good time and ends up meeting a guy. In books, I prefer strong women who fight back against the guy who hurt her, you know what I mean? Mom is not mama but mamma or mor!!! Many people probably find fault in Audrey, and even get frustrated with her. Who happens to be best friends with Lucas, her sister's boyfriend. Tate is sexy, funny, sincere, and generous. Audrey Parker is trying to do just that.
I skimmed a lot and believe me, I You won't lose anything if you try it, won't gain anything if you do. And if that isn't enough, the author leaves the reader with a cliffhanger that leads into the next book in the series, Blue Lines, that will feature Piper's story. Plus, Audrey, he basically only wants to do you. The moment that brough a smile to my face: Penolope Rayne. It can be difficult to live up to that same image. I mean, he is so sweet and sexy at the same time! Why he wanted her is still beyond me. I wanted to slap some sense into her through most of the book.
Even though he seems perfect, there is depth to his character. I mean, he is so sweet and sexy at the same time! The story wasn't bad, but as a lifelong hockey fan, a couple of things were like nails on a blackboard. You need a man who is nice to you all the time, not when it is convenient for him! He just cares so much for her, and the author does a really good job of making us feel what he is feeling. The thrill of moving up from the minors to the Nashville Assassins was a welcome distraction. While I enjoyed the previous audiobooks in this series very much, this one I just connected with. This is just a great series and I can't wait till August for the last installment. Audrey is at her sisters bachelorette party, gets drunk and brings back a hot guy to her room, planning on a one night stand.
And it effects their relationship. I just don't get it especially when Tate is right there. When we were just introduced to Tate early in book 2, I wasn't so sure because he was so young. Tate is surprised by the show that Audrey is putting on so early in the morning dragging and throwing her bed, her sheets, covers, pillows and many more things in the middle of the yard only to burn them all. Way too many useless information, pages written just so the book is bigger. Her gentle warmth and quirky sense of humor make him feel whole for the first time in too long. Aleo really knows how to write a smoking hot sex scene or two, or three.
I fell for hockey player Tate Odder from the beginning to the end. But enough with my fan girl squeefest, let's talk about this book. Audrey Parker is up against the boards. Dating a complete jerk her uses her when he sees fit, her self esteem is in the tanker and she doesn't see any way to make a change. I loved watching Audrey find confidence in herself and find not only a true love, but the strength to believe in her dreams.
This is the third in the series and I feel it was a testimony to the author's growth over the writing of this franchise. The thrill of moving up from the minors to the Nashville Assassins was a welcome distraction. Audrey Parker is up against the boards. Just some of your common misplaced words, misspellings, and repetitiveness. I am also a wife to my amazing husband, mother of a gamer and a gymnast, and also a fur momma to Gaston el Papillion. Tate is such a genuine guy.
